Imam Hossain

On the last minutes of his life, Imam Hossain (PBUH) asked an eternal question; that question has been echoing in the vast space of history, ever since. He asked: Is there not some one to assist me ? The noteworthy point is that at that moment all his companions who had fought next to him, already been martyred and Imam Hossain (PBHU) was standing alone . On the one hand, perhaps Imam Hossain was directing his question to the people who were fighting against him; many of them could still remember the Prophet saying so many times that Hossain was from him; a lot of them were present at Ghadir where the Prophet said that Hossain would be the Imam after Ali and Hassan (PBUT)... .Imam Hossain was reminding them that he was the son of Ali and Fatima, the daughter of Mohammad (PBUT); Imam Hossain (PBUH) was reminding them that he was the Imam, chosen by God. On the other hand, Imam Hossain (PBUH) was directing his question to humankind until eternity; he was talking to us too. In those dark seconds when even the moments did not want to go on, Imam Hossain (PBUH) said another statement which is so duty-causing for all of us. He said to any one who would remain, Do protect and defend the Ahl-Ol-Bait! This is one day we can assist Imam Hossain (PBUH); we can work and try to keep the Truth about the Ahl-Ol-Bait alive in the minds of humankind; because the Ahl-Ol-Bait's way is the path towards eternity and humankind's destination is eternity; because the last of the Ahl-Ol-Bait is among us and if we listen with our hearts, we can hear the same question every time the wind passes us by, the wind which carries Imam Mahdy's (PBUH) heavenly melody on its shoulders: Is there not some one to assist me?!
