Best of mankind
The Angel Gabriel said to the prophet Mohammad (PBUH & HP):
O' Mohammad! ‘Ali is the best of mankind; so, any one feeling disdain for and refusing this fact, surely is an Unbeliever.

(Sunni documents: Kanz-Ol-Omal, Ibn-Asaaker, ...)
In this Hadith, which is repeated so many times in Shi’a and also in Sunni documents, it is clearly indicated that, next to Mohammad (PBUH&HP), Ali (PBUH) is the best human ever created; it is also emphasized on the fact that any one denying Ali's superiority, is a non-believer. In other words, to be a believer or not, depends on accepting Ali's superiority or not! Allah chose the best of His creations to be His last prophet and in the same manner, He appointed the best man after His best Prophet to be His best Prophet's successor. And Allah appointed the best creations to be the Successors of the best Successor of His best Prophet. If we wish to be the best we can be, surely the best role-models we can choose, are the best chosen-ones.
