Imam Saadeq (PBUH) has said:
every time the month of Sha'baan was approaching, Imam Zayn-Ol-Abedin used to gather his companions and say: Do you comprehend the value of the month of Sha'baan? The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) has said that the month of Sha'baan was his month. Therefore, for the love that you have for the Prophet and for getting closer to Allah fast in this month; I swear to Allah who holds my life in His hands, I heard from my father -Hossain son of Ali (PBUT)- who heard from his father -Ali son of Abi Taleb (PBUT)- who said: whoever fasts in the month of Sha'aban for the love of Mohammad and for seeking closeness to Allah, Allah loves him and on the Judgment Day, Allah shall bless him with his grace and he shall make heaven a certain destination for him.
