Sea of Galilee … Part 1

Sea of Galilee

Part 1

Ibrahim ibn Mahdhiyar, also known as abu-Ishaaq, from Ahvaaz- known as Iraq back then- was of special companions and deputies of Imam Hasan Askari (SBUH). After the Imam (SBUH)’s martyrdom, in search of the Imam’s family, he traveled to different cities including to Medina but was not successful so he went to Mecca to continue his search …

He said that while circumambulating the Ka’bah he noticed a very fine young man who was looking at him; hoping that the young man may provide him with information regarding the Imam’s family, he went to him and said salaam. The young man returned his salaam and asked where he was from. Ibn Mahdhiyar told him from Iraq, he asked which Iraq, and he responded Ahvaaz; the young man said that he was very pleased to meet him.

Then the young man asked him whether he knew Ja’far ibn Hamdan Hasini. Ibn Mahdhiyar informed him that he had passed away. The young man said: May Allah’s Mercy be upon him, so many long nights in worship he spent and so great is his reward.

The young man then asked him if he knew Ibrahim ibn Mahdhiyar, and he responded that he was him. The young man warmly embraced him and asked him about the sign which was between him and Imam Askari, abu-Mohammad (SBUH).

Abu-Ishaaq said if he meant the Ring that Allah had blessed him with, through the Pure Imam Hasan ibn ‘Ali of the AhlulBayt of Mohammad (SBUT). And the young man said that was exactly what he was talking about.

Abu-Ishaaq gave him the ring, and the young man looked at the Ring, cried and kissed it; then he read the inscription which was: Ya Allah! Ya Mohammad! Ya ‘Ali! Then the young man addressed the Ring and said that he wished his father was sacrificed for the hand that the Ring used to be on …

The two talked some more … then the young man asked ibn Mahdhiyar where was he going after Mecca; ibn Mahdhiyar said nowhere, and that he wished to seek that which was concealed. The young man told him to ask whatever he wished, and that he, Allah-Willing, was going to inform him …

Abu-Ishaaq asked him what he knew regarding the family of Imam Hasan Askari (SBUH); the young man swore by Allah that he had found the foreheads of his (SBUH) sons, Mohammad and moosa (SBUT), brilliant, and that he was their envoy to him informing him of their news and taking him to them at Taa’ef, if he wished to meet them and brighten his eyes by seeing them; the young man also mentioned that this trip had to remain hidden from the family of ibn Mahdhiyar …

Ibn Mahdhiyar said that going toward Taa’ef they passed through desert … until they saw a wool tent on top of a sand hill brightening the lands surrounding it … the young man first entered the tent to seek permission for his entrance …

Shortly after … the older brother, Mohammad son of Hasan (SBUT) came out … he was in his early youth … it was as if his forehead was a shining star … there was a mole on his right cheek shining like amber and musk on silver … he had full and black hair … and a face that no eye had ever seen a more beautiful, peaceful and decent than it …

As he (SBUH) was getting closer to ibn Mahdhiyar he rushed toward him kissing his hands and falling on his feet …

He (SBUH) told abu-Ishaaq that he knew that they would meet, and that despite farness of distance and delay of meeting, their hearts were so close as if the joy of seeing each other and being together was always there … then he (SBUH) thanked Allah, the Lord of all Praise, for making this meeting possible and for bestowing awareness and comfort in place of farness and pain …

AH! … Let us pay attention that loving and eagerness is mutual between the Infallible Imam (SBUH) of each time and is TRUE followers …

Ibn Mahdhiyar then said to his beloved Imam that ever since his father (SBUH) had said Labbayk to the calling of Allah (passed away) he had been searching for him from one city to another with the doors of hope closing one after the other until Allah SWT blessed him and placed that young man on his way bringing him to his Imam; ibn Mahdhiyar then thanked Allah for inspiring him with his Imam’s benignity and sublimity.

Abu-Ishaaq continued that the Imam (SBUH) introduced himself and his brother to him and then took him to a corner and told him that his father, Imam Hasan Askari (SBUH), had made him promise to live in remote and secret places so that his Amr (Imamat …) might remain hidden from deceits of the deviated and dangers of the malevolent and transgressors; thus he (SBUH) sent him toward deserts, and told him that there was an end awaiting him when the matter would be solved and people would fear no more. Then he (SBUH) said that his father taught him of the secrets of Knowledge and treasures of Divine Wisdom so much so that if he (SBUH) was to disclose a touch of it for abu-Ishaaq he would need no more …

Then he (SBUH) told ibn Mahdhiyar that his father (SBUH) had told him that Allah had never left His earth and the adherents to His worship and obedience without a Hojjat (Living Proof) and Imam to be followed as the means for their exaltation and perfection …

Hojjat son of Hasan (SBUT) then told abu-Ishaaq that his father had said that he (SBUH) was of the Prepared by Allah for spreading the Truth, eliminating falsehood, exalting the Religion of Allah and extinguishing the flames of deviations …

Then the Imam (SBUH) said that thus his father commanded him to live in remote and secret places for the Chosen Awliya of Allah have always had opposing and assailing aggressive enemies, which standing against such hypocrites and disbelievers was necessary; and his father (SBUH) had told him not to be afraid of the numerousness of enemies …
