Warning … Danger … Wake up!

Part 7

In the last part we invited all of us to ponder how vulnerable we are … among different issues, since the world was anxiously watching the approaching asteroid, we reminded ourselves:

“Or if for instance a large Asteroid- like the one which passed by earth on April 2020- were to collide with earth causing overwhelming death and destruction … then what?!”

We all probably heard in the news:

A huge asteroid, half the size of Mount Everest, swooping in close to Earth's orbit zooming by at almost 20,000 miles per hour, passed relatively close to Earth on April 29, 2020. Asteroid (52768) 1998 OR2 passed at some 4 million miles (6 million km), or about at 16 times the Earth-moon distance. It was the biggest asteroid to fly by Earth last year. Its Mean diameter was calculated to be 2.06 km. It is one of the brightest and therefore largest potentially hazardous asteroids known to exist. Incredibly, the asteroid is the largest of all known large Near-Earth Objects and its closest approach to earth in this century and the next will be in 2079, when it’ll pass within a million miles of us which is less than five times the Earth-moon distance; much closer than the 2020 approach.

But did any asteroid ever collide with the earth or is it possible for one to do so?

Scientists say:

“People have been worrying about cosmic collisions for a long time, but the field only gained scientific legitimacy in the 1980s when the extinction of the dinosaurs was pinned on a single strike of a comet or asteroid. (Asteroids are rocky; comets are dirty snowballs. because they cause similar results when they hit Earth, and asteroids are more common, we'll refer to both bodies as "asteroids.")”

But, besides theories of collisions of millions of years ago, are there any newer incidents?

“1490 -- About 10,000 people die in the Chinese city of Chi1ing-yang when an asteroid breaks overhead.”

“1908 -- An asteroid estimated at 50 meters across explodes above Tunguska, Siberia, blowing down trees across 2,000 square kilometers and killing a thousand reindeer, but apparently no people. Because the stony object exploded in the atmosphere, there's no crater.”

“1937 -- Asteroid Hermes -- about a kilometer in diameter -- misses Earth by 600,000 miles.”

“1994 -- Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 breaks apart, then smashes into Jupiter under the watchful eye of dozens of telescopes. The resulting zone of chaos is estimated to be as large as the Earth and lends urgency to the search for asteroids and comets. "Shoemaker-Levy was a turning point," says Benny Peiser, an anthropologist at Liverpool John Moore's University at the 2000 meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, D.C. In the course of presenting results of the computer simulation on asteroid impacts, Peiser adds, "If it can happen in front of your nose -- practically in your backyard -- it can also happen on Earth."”

“2000 -- Michael Paine, an Australian engineer, announces a new computer analysis of asteroid impacts indicating that asteroids may cause considerable chaos over a 100,000-year period. Most disturbing was a 5-kilometer asteroid, which exploded with a power of 23 million megatons, easily enough to wipe out the human population. Paine ignored this unsettling occurrence, since it was highly unlikely to occur in any given 100,000-year span. Still, he estimated the annual risk of a fatal asteroid impact at one in 90, and concluded that an average of 120,000 people died per event. A particular concern was tsunamis. When an asteroid hits the ocean, which covers about 70 percent of the planet, it can trigger a tsunami. According to the simulation, the average tsunami would kill 470,000 people.”

“Now we have the assertion, based on a computer simulation by Australian engineer Michael Paine, that during the last 10,000 years, Earth was hit about 350 times by asteroids as large as the rock that wasted 2,000 square kilometers of Siberian forest in 1908. According to the simulation, during the next 10,000 years, cosmic junk could kill 13 million people, and perhaps cause wars, famines and general-purpose chaos. Although the assertion was not published in a refereed journal, the alarming news was discussed at a national scientific meeting in February.”

"Only about 3 percent of impacts leave a crater, and even when a crater does form, it is eventually buried by sediment, as happened to the Yucatan crater, or by the shifting of tectonic plates. On Earth, crater-counting can cause a false sense of security.”

David Rabinowitz of NASA's Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking System, now at Yale University, Announces "We now believe there are between 500 and 1,000 near-Earth asteroids larger than one kilometer in diameter."

It is noteworthy to mention that in some Hadiths, such as in a Hadith from the Prophet (PBUH & HP), it has generally been stated that as evil and wickedness become manifest on earth, God sends hardships upon people (al-Fitan, part 9). Imam Riza (PBUH) has also generally asserted that before the Appearance of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) continuous deaths will occur (al-Kahra’ij wa al-Jara’ih). And …

Again we remind that no one knows the time of Appearance … and as emphasized by the AhlulBayt (PBUT) all the prophesied events related to thee Appearance are changeable …

In any case … we are going toward Appearance and so many things can happen that we never imagined … such as this Corona virus …

Pondering about what has been prophesied … and what has happened … and what may happen … is an awakening warning which can Insha’Allah, before it’ll be too late, provide the grounds for humbleness and repentance for sincere hearts … and it can Insha’Allah, before it’ll be too late, guide people to, seriously and sincerely, implore Allah to hasten that everPromised glory of Appearance …

May Allah hasten Hadrat Mahdi’s (PBUH) Appearance before …

Let us now consider another related event which the Hadiths have precisely mentioned … and that is the phenomenon of the sun rising from the west about which many justifications have been presented throughout centuries:

After mentioning some Hadiths, we are going to briefly look at the possibility of occurrence of this phenomenon based on today’s human scientific knowledge.

And indeed Allah knows what will happen and how … for the Almighty omnipotent Allah does as He Wills …

The Infallible Ones (PBUT) have mentioned the possibility of the sun rising from the west before the Appearance of Hadrat Mahdi (PBUH); let us look at some of these Hadiths:

As documented in the Tafsir of al-‘Ayyashi, vol. 2, p. 128, al-Burhan fi Tafsir al-Qur’an vol. 2, p. 502, H. 3741, and …, Zurarah, Hamran and Muhammad ibn Muslim have narrated from Imam Baqir and Imam Sadiq (PBUT)- in regard to the Verse: “On the day when some of the Signs of your Lord shall come, his faith shall not benefit a person who did not believe before, or earn good through his faith.” (An’am 158)- who (PBUT) asserted that one of those Signs would be the rising of the sun from its Maghrib (its setting point) or so to speak from the west …

Also in the Tafsir ‘Ayyashi vol. 1, p. 385, H. 129, and al-Burhan vol. 2, p. 502, H. 3742, and …, it is narrated from Hafs ibn Ghiyath who said that Imam Sadiq (PBUH) relating from his father Imam Baqir (PBUH) asserted that … … when the sun rises from its setting point (the west) all the people shall believe but on that day “his faith shall not benefit a person who did not believe before, or earn good through his faith.” …

As viewed from the north pole star Polaris, the earth rotates counterclockwise around its own axis; also the planet earth orbits counterclockwise around the sun. As the result of these motions the sunrise is seen on the earth from the east and its set is seen at the west.

All of our solar system planets have this west to east counterclockwise rotation except Venus and Uranus! Venus spins on its axis from east to west i.e. clockwise , while Uranus is tilted so far over, it's virtually spinning clockwise on its side.

Scientists say that the planets should really all be spinning the same way. But Venus and Uranus are the exceptions: they have what's known as retrograde rotation. But how is this possible?!

“One of the most long-standing hypotheses is that Venus and Uranus originally rotated counter-clockwise – like Earth and the other planets still do – but were struck at some point by massive objects (perhaps other planets) that sent them spinning in different directions.”

“In recent years, astronomers have looked for other explanations, examining Venus and Uranus independently.”

“In 2011, simulations suggested that a number of smaller collisions, rather than one big impact, knocked Uranus to spin at an angle of 98 degrees. This could also explain why the planet's moons rotate at the same angle – something that would be unlikely if there were just one massive hit.”

Thus:

1-The Sun rises in the west if you are on Venus because Venus has a retrograde rotation, that is that it rotates in the opposite direction of the rest of the planets … and if you are on Uranus, for a quarter the Sun rises in the west and for a quarter the sun rises in the east.

2-Originally the sun used to rise at the east on these two planets too but a number of collisions knocked them to spin to an opposite direction causing the sun to rise at the west.

The following is also interesting:

“For billions of years, Earth has rotated in the same direction as the sun — but what if that direction were reversed? Deserts would cover North America, arid sand dunes would replace expanses of the Amazon rainforest in South America, and lush, green landscapes would flourish from central Africa to the Middle East, according to a computer simulation presented earlier this month at the annual European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2018 in Austria. In the simulation, not only did deserts vanish from some continents and appear in others, but freezing winters plagued western Europe …”

Considering all that has been said here … THEREFORE:

… CURRENTLY THE EARTH’S ROTATIONAL AXIS IS AT ABOUT 24 DEGREES … IF A FEW LARGE ASTEROIDS COLLIDE WITH THE EARTH KNOCKING it TO SPIN AT AN ANGLE OF MORE THAN 90 DEGREES, LOTS OF PEOPLE SHALL DIE AND MANY CHANGES IN THE CLIMATE AND … WILL OCCUR AND AND THE SUN WILL RISE FROM THE WEST …

Indeed the Omnipotent Almighty- who allowed the Shaqq al-Qamar (splitting of the moon) for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH & HP), and the Radd al-Shams (returning of the Sun) for the Prophet Solayman (PBUH), and for Yusha’ son of Nun the Wasi of Hadrat Musa (PBUT), and for Hadrat ‘Ali (PBUH) …- does not need any usual means and He SWT can do anything He wishes as soon as He Wills …
